    Explosion-proof Motor(HV)
    Explosion-proof motors require durability and high performance because they are installed in an environment where explosive gas exists in the oil & gas industry. Hyosung Heavy Industries has a lineup of explosion-proof motor products that meet major international standards (IECEx, ATEX, UL, CSA, GOST, KGS, etc.).

    Characteristics

    • Ex d : The container endures internal explosion pressure when explosive gas explodes, or steam causes a large pressure increase. In addition, the motor is structured to be protected from external explosive gas or steam that may enter through the joints or openings.
    • Ex p : The protective gases’ pressure is maintained at a higher level than the external environment to create an explosion-proof structure that protects the motor from external influence.
    • Ex e : This motor has a mechanically and electrically enhanced safety structure against temperature increases to prevent electrical sparks and arcs, which can act as an igniter for the explosive gas or steam in operation.
    • Ex n : Under normal operating conditions, ignition is not induced in the surrounding explosive gas or vapor.
