Job description Quality Control Specialist Department: Carpet FLSA: Non-Exempt Reports To: Carpet General Mgr / VP Supervises: N/A Position Summary The Quality Specialist will work under the direct direction of the Quality Manager and be responsible for the general quality activities within Hyosung USA, Inc. Carpet Division. General Qualifications Education/Knowledge: · Bachelor’s Degree required (Non-major specific but STEM degrees preferred) · Effective written and verbal communication skills · Creative problem-solving abilities and results-oriented. · Excellent interpersonal/customer service skills. · Knowledge of ISO 9000/IATF16949 a plus · MS Office program proficiency *Ability to communicate in English and Korean preferred Essential Functions The essential functions below may vary depending on the departmental requirements. · Responds to customer complaints, inquiries, and audit requirements with an appropriate sense of urgency. · Support product quality and manufacturing failure investigations, and define investigation strategy. · Responsible for assuring product conformance to Customer specifications by Supervising Inspectors by training. · Assists Quality Manager and Production Specialists in disposition of non-conforming product · Assures coordination for in-process testing activities, analysis of inspection results, and corrective action when discrepancies are encountered. · Participates in the evaluation of the manufacturing process through the implementation and maintenance of statistical methods. This includes monitoring, analyzing, and providing product performance feedback to the management, employees, and customers as required. · Periodic review of the entire quality issued standards and instructions both physical and written for clarity and effectiveness. Provide for interpretation and orientation for the Inspectors and production personnel. · Assure the preparation and maintenance of quality instructional materials and standards such as inspection instructions, sample display boards, gage operational procedures, and other methods to provide understanding and application to manufacturing and quality personnel. · Review all non-conforming products; assist in the disposition of products for re-work, sorting, and/or scrap. · Upholds the compliance of Inspectors to follow safety rules and practices · Assists in quality orientation and training programs for Inspectors. Physical Demands/Work Environment: Vision, hearing, and speech are required. Manual dexterity is necessary. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled.
